Single Unified status of experts used by the civil and criminal courts (No SRSS/C2018/076)

The Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights is in the process of improving the quality of expertise used by civil and criminal courts, unifying practices in resolving the above-mentioned issues, eliminating inconsistencies in the appointment and fee setting of court experts and reducing complexity where possible.

To this end, it wants to benefit from high-level legal and economic expertise in order to gain an accurate picture of the existing practices at national level for all the different civil and criminal court proceedings in this area, to identify the divergences that may exist as well as the need for such divergences and to make specific recommendations on the legislative changes needed to establish a new legal framework on eligibility, liability, appointment, determination of jurisdiction, and the possibility of a new legal framework.
