Evolution Projects+ has successfully completed the development of an integrated repository of digital, cultural content, which is fully available to the general public, without any restrictions on its availability, viewing and retrieval on the website http://tripoli.culhub.gr/
The object of the project was the production, digitization, documentation and deposition of the cultural material of the Municipality of Tripoli, in accordance with international good practices and specifications, as well as the availability of this material through a web services platform developed entirely by our company’s developers.
In the framework of the project “DIGITAL VISION IN THE CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL MATERIAL OF TRIPOLIS” Evolution Projects+ was asked to digitize, using the latest technology, all the valuable and previously unpublished historical archive of Alexandros Papanastasiou, with over 27.000 printed pages and to produce new photographic material in historical and archaeological sites of the wider region of Arcadia.
At the same time, Evolution Projects+ made a digital projection with a 3D tour of the Malliaropouleio Municipal Theatre of Tripoli, the Alexandros Papanastasiou Museum in Levidi and the Cave of Kapsia.
The specifications followed for the material to be digitised and documented have been developed by the National Documentation Centre (EKT) and have emerged based on many years of national and international experience in infrastructures for open, documented, digital content, while they are based on international practices, both at the level of European countries and the EU as a whole (e-content, ICT PSP, e-infrastructure etc.a.) in European portals for the collection and distribution of particularly large-scale content (Europeana and DRIVER), as well as good examples of individual international repositories and large-scale digital content systems (Open Library of the Internet Archive, Google Books and Art Project, etc.).
With the completion of the project, the full utilization of new technologies for the promotion and availability of digital cultural content to visitors was made possible, and the promotion of the entire project in modern social media with the creation and design of an information page and profile of the Municipality of Tripoli.
